Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church is so focused on Christ’s love, others are attracted to our celebration! Our dream is for you to become part of our celebration of Jesus. Our celebration centers on three experiences with our Lord: FALLING in love with Christ, GROWING in love with Christ and SHOWING love for Christ. We invite you to join us in Bible Study and worship.

Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church is so focused on Christ’s love; others are attracted to our celebration!

1. We desire for PSDBC to be more and more like Jesus

a. Jesus had that amazing balance of being totally committed to obeying God’s will and yet He is the most caring, loving, forgiving person who ever walked this earth.
Sinners and the irreligious were drawn to Him.

b. It is our hope from the moment people first take part in worship here at PSDBC that they experience the Spirit and character of Jesus Christ and they will be drawn to Him. Matthew 11:36-40

2. The Family is the First Institution of God

a. We acknowledge that God has commissioned the family as the basic unit for communicating the Christian faith.

b. We believe that church activities should include suggested experiences for the family unit that enhance the family being a platform for sharing the gospel.

c. We believe there are challenges faced by families that the church should help meet so that the transitions of life become teachable moments.
Deuteronomy 6: 7; Psalm 90: 16; Ephesians 6: 1-4

3. Worship is our number one ministry priority

a. We desire worship to be Spirit-led and Christ-centered.

b. We desire Sunday and Wednesday to be highlight of each person's week ... the most inspiring and exciting time of their week.

c. We believe that personal worship through a daily quiet time is a key for each person being prepared for corporate worship.
Matthew 28: 17; Psalm 2: 11; Mal/hew 2:2,8,11; Revelation 4.

4. We want to reach as many people for Christ as is possible, locally, and globally

a. Our local mission field is to lead boys and girl s and adults to Jesus Christ.

b. Our global mission field is Jerusalem (Meridian Area), Judaea (State of Mississippi), Samaria (United States with ethnic diversity), and uttermost parts of the world (whole world).

c. We see prayer, giving, partnerships, and going as four major keys for reaching our world for Christ." Matthew 28: 18-20; Acts 1:8.

5. We believe preaching and teaching Gods Word is central to discipling believers

a. We believe God's Word is perfect truth in its entirety.

b. We believe in teaching God's Word in every ministry (babies to senior adults).

c. We believe it is our responsibility to call on the Holy Spirit to reveal the relevance of God's Word to everyday life.

6. We believe prayer is our power source

Luke 19:46; Romans 8:26-27

7. Unchanging message, ever-changing methodologies

a. We believe that the message and beliefs of the church never change, but methodologies of ministry may change continually under the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

b. Spirit-led innovation is encouraged over tradition and status quo.

8. Faithful Stewards

We believe it is the responsibility of the church and its members to be faithful stewards of the resources God has entrusted to us. Malachi 3:8-10; Matthew 6:19-21

9. We want to have a "kingdom vision" for ministry

This means working to build up and cooperate with other Christ-centered, Bible-believing, evangelical ministries as God leads.

10. We want to do ministry with excellence

Philippians 1.10; Philippians 4:8

11. We believe in "extra mile" servant ministry. Matthew 5:41

a. We believe in servant ministry to members that always seeks to go the "extra mile".
We want our members to be treated better than the best business would treat their regular customers.

b. We believe in servant ministry to our prospects that always seek to go the "extra mile". We want our guests to be treated better than the best business would treat their potential customers.

c. We believe in servant ministry with and to all ages. The Ministerial Staff is called to lead, recruit, teach and train people to do ministry, but we believe every Christian is called to be a minister.
