Dr. Temple joined the PSDBC staff on Sunday, October 22, 2006. John grew up in
Starkville, MS and graduated from Mississippi State University in 1973. He earned his
Masters of Divinity in 1978 and Doctor of Ministry in 1983 from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. The Lord has led him to serve five churches prior to coming to Meridian. With the experience that he has gained in these positions, he is well qualified to be the Pastor at Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church.
John has been married to the former Donna Clark, of Meridian for over 34 years.
The Temples have two young adult sons. Hunting and motorcycles are two of his free time hobbies.

Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church has been blessed by the hand of God to have found Rev. and Mrs. Lloyd Sutton. Lloyd is a native of Frankfort, KY and attended Kentucky State University. His degree in Church Music is from Campbellsville College and was awarded in 1979. During his time there, he met Myra, his wife of 33 years. He attended The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, earning a Master of Church Music degree in 1990.
Myra teaches music in the public schools, as well as being a private piano instructor. The Suttons have three married children and four grandchildren. Bro. Lloyd has served the Lord in Alabama, Kentucky and Indiana churches.

Rev. Jackson came to Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church in May of 2005, from
First
Baptist Church in Purvis, to fill the position of Minister of Education and
Administration.
In addition to degrees in Church Music from The University of
Southern Mississippi (’78), Religious
Education (‘80)and Marriage and Family
Counseling (’99) from New Orleans Baptist Theological
Seminary, he brings with
him 26 years of full-time ministry experience in Southern Baptist Churches
across the states of Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.
Glenn is a native of Purvis, MS, where he was licensed (’72) and ordained (’81). Celebrating their 28th year of marriage, he and his wife, Wanda, are adjusting to an empty nest. Their three young adult children are living independently in Purvis. Their two older children are married and have blessed them with 5 grandchildren. Wanda and Glenn enjoy cooking, reading, collecting and displaying Department 56 Snow Village.

Rev. Lance Word began his service as Youth/Youth Music minister in June, 2002. Bro. Lance has been in youth ministry for twenty-one years, and in music ministry for twenty-four years. He holds a music degree from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee and a youth degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
Lance’s wife, Jodi, also holds a degree from Southwestern Seminary and another from
Texas Tech University. Jodi teaches high school Bible, Spanish, and journalism at Calvary
Christian School. Lance and Jodi are blessed with two children, Will and Joanna.

Poplar Springs Drive is lucky to have a person, like Regina, who has the love for God and children in her heart. Her dedication to the kingdom goes above and beyond the call of duty. She is the mother of two children, Branson and Bailey, who are active in school, community and church activities. Her husband, Tom, is on active duty with the navy and ask for your prayers for his safe return.

Tammy joined the office team in 2003. She works closely with our minister of
Education to order and distribute curriculum and periodicals to our various departments.
Her duties include attendance rolls for all departments such as: Sunday School, Discipleship
Training, GROW, Choir, etc. Tammy designs and publishes the PowerPoint presentation
you view on the screens on every Sunday, and other general office duties as they arise.
One added plus is that she served the church for a number of years as the part time Librarian.

Sylvia is a vital part of the church family and office as the "Church Caring Mom."
Her job description states that her position is "part time," however she gives
PSDBC a full time effort. Her knowledge and history of the church prove

Billy Goodwin, Building Maintenance

We have found that Billy can do almost anything. He can build it or fix it. He keeps the
machinery going, orders supplies, and supervises the crews that clean the building and
maintains the grounds. Billy teaches a class, visits the hospitals, and is ready to fill most
any position that you call on him to fill, including the pulpit -- he'll sing or preach or both.
